I guess I should put spoiler warnings?
However, the Memory of Light, the last book in the series, came out all the way back on Jan 8th 2013, which is 7 years ago.
And for those who are curious but to lazy to check, Eye of the World, the first book, came out Jan 15th 1990...
*blink* why couldn't MoL come out on the 15th that would have ...
FOCUS
Right, sorry. Ooo shiny moment.
Moving on.

Okay. I guess I should point out that I'm writing this from my very medication hindered already poor memory. If I mess up some things please feel free to point and laugh and snarkily correct me in the comment section below.

Act 1: The Ordinary World

Ordinary world -

Eqwene is the the Mayor of Emond's Field's daughter.  Her father just so happens to also be the only innkeeper. Born three years after the three main lead males, she is the youngest of 5 sisters. Able to hear the wind, she is training under village wisdom to eventually become one herself. Right at the beginning of the story she is FINALLY allowed to braid her hair which is a sign of adulthood in the Two Rivers (I think you could consider Two Rivers to be like a state) Rand, who is one of the major players notices that they both became of marrying age at the same time. It is just been kind of assumed that one day she and Rand would eventually marry.

Meeting with the Mentor

Over the three years that all but New Spring (which Egwene isn't born yet) Egwene has what can be considered several mentors. Sure you could say that Nynaeve al 'Meara (don't ask me how to say that) is her first mentor. But as far as Egwene's hero journey, I would like to stress that Moiraine Sedai is the one who gave Egwene a chance to fly.

When they meet, Moiraine is just a pretty what everybody (correctly) assumes to be a noble lady, just like in the stories who is staying at her fathers tavern because she is collecting stories of the region (LIES, okay, she's an Aes Sedai and cannot lie... but she had another reason for going to The Two Rivers). The Two Rivers has a rich and amazing history that has been completely forgotten, its not even a myth.

Call to Adventure

Winternight, the night before Bel Tine, the last night of winter. A time that now that I think about it is a mix between Christmas and Halloween. Everybody in the town visits everybody else gift, eating and drinking together. but in 998 NE, while she is 17, something tragic happens to Emond's Field. Creatures from myth, from just stories, comes and attacks the town. Trollocs? and a Myddraal?

The night ends up in CHAOS. and once it starts to calm down Egwene starts helping Nynaeve take care of the wounded until she notices I believe two of Rand, Matt, and Perrin acting strange. As soon as she is sure that the boys are in fact leaving with Moiraine, she bullies her way into the group.

Refusal

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

Crossing the Threshold

Rand is pretty quick to offer her Bella to ride, which is so important to the whole series. Also, Once she crosses on the ferry, she never goes back.

Act 2: The Special World

Tests, Allies, and Enemies

There are so many test she goes through throughout the series. She learns to become an Aes Sedai, she learns to become a Dreamer, the search for the Black Ajah,

By the end of the series, she has done her best to find a way for most types of female magic users to let their trainees train under other schools and even gets past her... I'm at a loss for the right word.  She doesn't like how the Seanchan treat their casters, but she does make a deal with the empress in the end that they will allow their casters to leave to join other groups if she will allow her caster to leave and join them, which that she eventually agrees to it is freaken amazing.

Enemies. You have the obvious ones.  Those who follow the forces of evil. Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan became her rival when she was thrust to become the leader of the rebel Aes Sedai. Her interactions with her in The Gathering Storm are great. Chapter two and sixteen I believe she is forced to attend her while she sups.

Approach to the Inmost Cave

I want to say this happens twice. Two MAJOR events. One, she is captured by the Seanchan, who try to make her believe she is sub human. Two, she is betrayed and captured by the tower Aes Sedai, and well, they certainly try to make her submit to Elaida.

The Ordeal

After the disaster of the second dinner, Eladia cast Egwene into the smallest and most cramped cell they have in the towers dungeons. But that isn't where the ordeal takes place. Not in my opinion anyways. No, the night she is released, she drinks a tea that takes away her ability to cast magic... in fact, it was her idea to drink the tea so the people watching over her could go do something about the stressful news they heard. The Seanchan raid the tower! nope, still not the ordeal, just leading up to it. After the raid, she is found, by well meaning friends, passed out on the ground, no body around because she had sent them all to bed.  She is so weak and alone, and if they'd only her friends would have just left her in the tower. But no, they bring her back to the rebels, to lead her army against the tower.

Here is the Ordeal, she must lead a group of people she cares about to go kill another group of people she cares about, and the thought of it is breaking her heart.

The Reward

She stalls, she doesn't know why she is stalling, but she holds back her army, choosing to wait until the last moment to attack because once she does ...

But right before the attack is called, a group of sitters come out and summon her to become the Amyrlin Seat of the White Tower, which she brings the rebels back into the fold after scolding everybody including herself.

Act 3: Returning to the Ordinary World

The Road Back

Yay, The White Tower is united again. The sister will hopefully stop treating those in their Ajah like their enemy. But that happened in The Gathering storm, there are two more books. The Black Ajah need to be dealt with, the forsaken hiding in the tower needs to be found and done something with, somebody is randomly killing sisters that don't have warders using a knife and forcing locks, what is she going to do about Gawyn? and oh yeah. Rand wants to break the rest of the seals, you know, those things keeping the ... evil god locked up in a cage.

Yeah, her story isn't over yet, not by a long shot.

Resurrection or Transformation

I honestly cant pick her "final exam" Maybe, Maybe its when she sits down to make a peace treaty with the Empress of the Seanchan. Because she is honestly forced to face her most traumatic part of the her life. Because she has to go okay, for the better good of the world, I will face this fear.

Return with the Elixir

She doesn't literally go back to Edmond's field when all is said and done. She does invite her parents to her wedding, though that happens off camera. I guess she considers the tower her home.

But at the end.

She doesn't get to go home.
