The diary of the half orc part one
Cayden handed me the theater tarot card that claims to know what the big bad has done to me and tells me to meet them at their house, I tell the priest that I have a lead and where and head to the house. but the door is closed and no one answers the door, so I stand off to the side with Cayden chatting and notices someone also knock on the door, some city guard tries to intimidate me, but I’m sorry, I’m just not buying it.
We find out that the door is unlocked and that the owner has stepped out, wine and stale bread have been left for us. the asmir flashes her card and ask if everybody got one. we all did and placed them on the table and I tried to read magic on them. but the cards are the trader, wanderer, throne, twin, queen mother, theater
Our hostess gives us some important information then handed me a "rabbit prince" card... then did a tarot reading but when the idiot card was place the asmir pointed to Cayden.
She read and explained the reading but I was curious about the deck.
Next, we talked plans, I tried to persuade them to let Cayden to go into a bar and let him gather info
YAY... we used my plans... wtf... Nope, that didn’t work.
okay... let’s raid...
at the new map, Cayden and others walks around the building, dogs bark, but we want to find an unlocked door if there is one.
everybody gathers on the boat, and there is a door that is unlocked, oooh spider!
I move to the brow of the ship ... and promptly fall through into the darkness, owe. I yell for Cayden!
AHHHHHH THERE IS A SPIDER ATTACKING ME!!! IT BIT ME!!! CAYDEN THERE IS BUGS!! CAYDEN!!!!!
Sutora comes and holds a light above me before falling next to me. At least I can see now, she stabs the spider next to me, so on my turn I stab it with my dagger as well and kill it. then my summon comes down and then stabs the other spider next to me, killing it. Kestrel jumps down our hole and shortly after a spider came from somewhere and attacked kestrel
Kiyoko (Kiyo) comes down the stairs and starts dancing which gets Cayden humming. Krampeen joined the battle and attacked a spider...
I'm not aware of any blanket rule that summoned creatures share their summoner's initiative. It's simply a consequence of timing; they appear and act when the spell is complete, which typically means that they always start out sharing your initiative.
Sutora stands up and attacks the spider next to her, swing and a miss
I cast web on the spider in front of Kres, and that was in hindsight a really stupid thing to do, cast web on a spider???? of COURSE it is not going to work. I pull out my crossbow then Cayden tries to attack the spider in front Kres and misses
after the spiders are dead and Kres opens the found secret door a half orc comes down ... OMG. GIGGLES? GIGGLES? fuck giggles is also one of the thugs who keeps kids in lines and giggles as he beats the children. prob one of the ones that beat me senseless
... Hookshanks just landed in front of me. one of the thugs that oversees the orphans that keep them in line by threatening to feed them to the dogs
"Friend, you call me friend? after what you did to me? sure, call me a 'friend'" I aim at giggles as I try to attack Hookshanks. Cayden claws at him and knocks him down.
Yeah giggles, standing up while surrounded by my friends was a BRILLIANT idea as all three of them attack him and knocking him out
Oh, I know that yell... it’s the big bad, can’t wait for him to recognize me, I look at the amulet I got from the fight and get the idea to plant it in his pocket.
Cayden makes it into the TINY door preventing all of us from getting into the room ... Kiyo jumped into the water, oh there is something in there with her, I hope she’s okay, cause I’m going after the big bad
it takes a bit but Cayden FINALLY moves out of my way and attacks something, so I make it into the room and realize that the big bad is down, not sure if he’s dead, but after yelling in frustration I move around the room close to the big bad
the damn lizard bit me and pulled me into the water I start yelling "CAYDEN HELP! LET GO OF ME YOU WORTHLESS PICES OF FUTURE LUGGAGE. I'M GONNA SKIN YOU AND MAKE YOU A BAG” Cayden ran over to me. Kres comes over and stabs the lizard
ooh the lizard lets go of me and attacks the shiny joe Cayden jumps down on the beach and swipes at the gator as I climb out of the water and change to my crossbow
They killed the lizard. "I VOTE WE FUCKING SKIN THAT DAMN THING” the big bad got thrown into the water earlier, he's prob dead by now
Staring down at the big bad's dead body I have mixed feelings. this is the man who took me and my best friend in and gave us a home, job, and good food for years. but on the other hand, he abandoned me when I grew curious about religion. I pick up his dagger, hand crossbow and some bolts.
we go through the stuff scattered around this area and out of everything I also grab a masterwork dagger with a strange blade shaped almost like a key bearing the inscription: "For an inspiration of a father" and a masterwork shuriken. I pick up Zellara's Harrow Deck confused because I was pretty sure she used this deck last night while we were visiting her. Then someone opens the hat box, and it has her head, that has obviously been dead for a while, maybe a week or two.
we backtrack to the first door we come across and go in and go in, there is barking and I’m to terrified to move but Cayden runs to the dog and swipes it and it dies. on to exploring.
we move through the building and we find the orphans... "Oh my little lambs, we are not here to hurt you"
we decide to sort the children into three groups, one who last they knew had family, one who came from orphanages, the ones who came from the street, Kres will take the smallest group, and me and whoever else is from a church will take the larger ones, Kres will take her to her in for the rest of the night, while the rest of the kids will go to whichever church.
Once we leave the house with the orphans, we realize that the city is in chaos. Gryphons are flying through the air, a voice rings over the city saying "The king is dead, long live the queen" and people of the city are yelling back things like "Hang the queen"
I want the three people who are not leading children to pick a group to escort while someone says we should just go to the nearest church
There is a temple just a few streets over. I ask the children to stay together as the group surround and protect, I do say if we walk by someone house to get our attention and we will let them knock on the door.
I whisper into the priest ear "These are the lost lambs, their father is dead, we have plans to find them homes once the chaos ends, this will not be forever" he asked what happened to the big bad, worried I think that he will come for the children and I admit that we killed him, "That is prob for the best, I understand" and we are welcome to stay. The one with the book goes to sit in a corner and studies, the rest of us take turns standing guard at the door. Kres' uncle got cleared due to some of the information in the book.
