Seaflower - 22

The third class was standing on the bow of ship excited, he hadn’t been home in 4 years.  Now he was looking at the green island. Nobs and Spoons standing on either side of him.  Tye and the goddess behind him.  Nobs and the third class had the same look on there faces.  To them this island was the most beautiful thing on the planet. From the angle they were at it looked like a thousand trees on a mound.  The ship was slowly moving around the island.
“Sir, you might want to launch your gig, it’s just around the bend.”
The goddess looked at Tye, “He can do one better.”
Tye blinked and met his loves eyes who then looked down at the water.  Tye nodded and the next thing they knew they were closer to the water and ship was rocking.  Tye grinned at his goddess wondering who was going to notice first.
Spoons look around confused after a few seconds. “Old man did you just put us on your gig in the water at the same time?”
Tye smiled, “Nah, it all just happened and you don’t remember a thing.” Tye winked
“I’m impressed.” Spoons tapped the third class on the shoulder. “Why don’t you take the helm, take us home.”
The third class looked around a bit confused and went to the helm, “Aye aye sir.”
He steered the ship with what seemed to be expert knowledge.  Tye figured that he just needed to trust the kid when he started to point the gig at the rocks and a solid rock cliff.  Tye grabbed Spoons shoulder when he tried to take control. “Spoons, I’m sure he doesn’t want CO’s mast at his house.  Just trust him.”
A few moments later he was taking the gig in between two cliffs and he turned port suddenly. The gig stopped and he picked up the radio, “Forrest Caves, Farren”
“Farren?  Forrest Caves, What are you doing back so soon?”
“Forrest Caves, Farren, I was in the neighborhood and felt like taking the admiral’s gig for a joy ride while kidnapping the  goddess, anything to get the elder’s attentions really.”
“Farren, Forrest City, Dock 2, standby for escort and try not to get into anymore trouble.”
“I love you too, mother.”  The petty officer hung up the radio with a smirk on his face and expertly guided the gig to its spot.
Nobs tapped the petty officer on the shoulder, “who was that? She has a voice of an angel.”
“Wha? My mother?”
“That was your mother?” Nobs smile started to turn into a disappointed frown.  “She uh, sounds like a lovely woman.”
Spoons looked at Nobs realizing how out of character he was acting.
“My house is fairly large, you are welcome to stay at my house, traveling by sea at night is not advisable, even with the most experienced sea goers.”
“You are very kind Farren, we accept.”  The goddess smiled at him.
“It’s an honor to serve you. ”  He bowed.
